Abrar ul Haq, a prominent figure in the realm of Pakistani music and a revered legend of Punjabi music, recently made insightful information on Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast. Renowned for his musical prowess, Haq’s influence extends beyond Pakistan, with his music resonating globally, including in India. Notably, one of his songs, “Nach Punjaban,” was featured in a Karan Johar film, achieving considerable success.

In his podcast appearance, Abrar ul Haq disclosed that he had received numerous offers from Bollywood throughout his career, including opportunities for albums and films. Among these offers was one from Eros, which he declined—a decision that evidently surprised the company, as they expressed astonishment at someone turning down their offer for the first time. Additionally, Haq revealed that he was offered a film role alongside Bollywood superstar Katrina Kaif, a proposition his friends urged him to accept.

However, Haq’s refusal stemmed from his principles and values. He elucidated that he couldn’t comprehend the contractual terms presented to him, particularly the restrictions on his freedom of speech. Refusing to compromise on his beliefs, Abrar ul Haq declined the opportunity to work in an environment where his voice would be constrained. Consequently, he turned down the film offer with Katrina Kaif, prioritizing his commitment to social causes and his advocacy for freedom of expression.
