Pakistani Stars Sanjay Leela Bhansali Once Had in Mind for Heeramandi

“Heeramandi,” Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut OTT venture on Netflix, has garnered significant attention for its stellar cast, featuring Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and others.

Recently, in an interview circulating on YouTube, Bhansali revealed that he had initially considered top Pakistani actors for the series.

Reflecting on the casting process, Bhansali shared, “I had various casting ideas over the eighteen-year span of this project. Initially conceived as a film, I contemplated casting Rekha Ji, Kareena, and Rani Mukharji. At one point, I also considered Mahira Khan, along with Imran Abbas and Fawad Khan. However, I ultimately settled on the current ensemble cast.”
