TikTok, a platform for short-form videos, has gained immense popularity since its launch in 2016, attracting over 1 billion active users globally.

To celebrate this milestone, Jannat shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram story, expressing her immense happiness: “Reaching 25 million followers on TikTok means the world to me. I am truly grateful for all the love and support.”

Jannat Mirza also took a moment to thank her TikTok followers, whom she fondly refers to as her “TikTok family,” saying, “I love each and every one of my 25 million followers dearly.”

In comparison to other Pakistani actresses, Jannat’s social media presence surpasses many, with over 5 million followers on Instagram and a growing YouTube channel with 222,000 subscribers.

Her rise to fame underscores the growing influence of social media personalities in Pakistan, often eclipsing traditional celebrities in terms of popularity and engagement. This shift reflects how audiences now prefer the immediacy and accessibility offered by platforms like TikTok.

TikTok’s unique algorithm, which customizes content discovery based on user preferences, has been instrumental in its widespread appeal, shaping the media consumption habits of an entire generation.

The temporary ban on TikTok by the Pakistani government in July 2021, citing concerns about inappropriate content, was lifted in November 2021 after TikTok agreed to adhere to local content regulations.
