Elizabeth Debicki goes shoeless to accept SAG Awards
25th February, 2024Elizabeth Debicki, famous for her role as Princess Diana in The Crown, was taken aback by her win at the SAG Awards on Saturday.
When the actress’s name was announced as the recipient of the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series award, she was caught off guard.
As Debicki approached the platform, her expression was one of pure surprise.
Her heels were uncomfortable, which made her even more nervous, so she kicked them off before going on stage.
“I am not wearing shoes right now,” she began her acceptance speech, adding, “I don’t really know what to say, so I’m just gonna wing it.”
As she accepted the prestigious trophy—which she had won for playing Lady Diana in the critically popular Netflix series—Debicki thanked all of her nominees, including Jennifer Aniston, Bella Ramsey, Keri Russell, and Sarah Snook.
Debicki expressed her amazement at being nominated among ladies who had taught her the skill through observation.
Since her surprising victory fell on her mother’s birthday, the actress gave her mother a birthday shoutout before turning off the microphone.
